Account deletion

Delete your UFAQ account.

Deletion happens inside the UFAQ app and is permanent after a 7-day grace period.

How to delete your account

Account deletion happens inside the UFAQ app. Follow these steps:

1
Open the UFAQ app and sign in.
2
Tap your profile tab.
3
Tap the gear / settings icon at the top right.
4
Scroll down to the Account section.
5
Tap Delete Account.
6
Confirm by re-entering your password when prompted.
7
Your account is now scheduled for deletion.

The 7-day grace period

When you request deletion, your account is not deleted immediately. It is scheduled for deletion and enters a 7-day grace period.

During the grace period:

  • Your account is hidden from search and discovery
  • You cannot log in to the app or use any of the Services
  • Other users will see indicators that you are no longer reachable
  • Your messages, posts, and profile remain in our systems but are not publicly visible

If you change your mind during the grace period, you can sign back in to cancel. Once you sign in successfully, your account is restored to active status with all data intact.

After the 7-day grace period ends, your account and personal data are permanently deleted from our active systems, except for data we are required to retain by law.

What is deleted

When your account is permanently deleted, the following information is removed from our active systems:

  • Your account credentials (email, hashed password, authentication records)
  • Your full profile information (display name, username, photos, bio, location, website, university, major, year of study, country, gender, language, preferences, tags, date of birth, zodiac display preference)
  • Your private profile information used for matching (Spark Match preferences and answers)
  • Your followers, following, blocked, saved, and liked lists
  • Your UFAQ Score and score history
  • Your settings and preferences
  • Your push notification tokens
  • Your draft content and unsent messages

What may be retained

  • Public content (posts, comments) may continue to appear with your authorship replaced by “Deleted user.”
  • Direct messages remain visible to recipients with sender attribution updated.
  • Reports may be retained for up to two years for safety and policy enforcement.
  • Transaction records may be retained for up to seven years for tax and consumer-protection laws.
  • Server logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security.
  • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before being purged.
  • Information we are legally required to retain (legal holds, court orders).
  • Anonymized data that no longer identifies you personally may be retained indefinitely.

Premium subscriptions

Deleting your UFAQ account does not automatically cancel an active Premium subscription billed through Google Play. To cancel a Google Play subscription, do so through your Google Play account before deleting your UFAQ account. We recommend cancelling your subscription first, then deleting your account.
