Community Guidelines
UFAQ is a place to post, chat, find work and collaborators, and meet people through Spark Match. These guidelines explain what is allowed on UFAQ, what is not, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.
They apply everywhere on UFAQ — posts, comments, chats, profiles, usernames, display names, bios, photos, job and U-Collab listings, Spark Match requests, and anything else you send or share through the app.
By using UFAQ, you agree to follow these guidelines. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where something here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms apply.
The short version
- Treat people the way you would in person.
- Be who you say you are.
- Don’t post things that could hurt someone.
- Don’t use UFAQ to sell, scam, or spam.
- Respect it when someone says no.
Everything below is the detail behind those five points.
Who can use UFAQ
You must be at least 13 years old to have a UFAQ account. Some features, including Spark Match, are only available to users aged 18 and over.
If we believe an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we will remove it. We may ask for proof of age before restoring an account.
You may only have one account unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Accounts cannot be bought, sold, rented, or transferred.
What is not allowed
Harassment and bullying
Do not target people with abuse. This includes:
- Insults, slurs, and name-calling aimed at a person
- Repeated unwanted contact after someone has blocked you, declined a Spark Match, or asked you to stop
- Creating accounts to get around a block
- Encouraging others to pile on to someone
- Sexual harassment, including unsolicited sexual messages, comments, or images
- Threats to expose someone’s private information or private messages
- Mocking someone’s appearance, disability, health condition, or a death or serious event in their life
Disagreeing with someone is fine. Making someone’s day worse on purpose is not.
Hate speech
Do not attack, dehumanise, or call for the exclusion of people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, disability, serious illness, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
This covers slurs, hateful stereotypes, hateful symbols and imagery, and support for organisations or individuals known for hateful conduct.
Violence and threats
Do not threaten violence, wish harm on someone, celebrate violence, or ask others to commit it. Do not post credible plans for violence, or share content from attacks published by their perpetrators.
Do not promote, praise, or provide support to terrorist or violent extremist organisations, or use UFAQ to recruit for them.
Child safety
Accounts involved in child sexual exploitation are permanently removed without warning, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to relevant law enforcement. There is no appeal for confirmed cases.
Do not post, share, request, or link to any material that sexualises a minor. Do not attempt to contact minors for sexual purposes, or use UFAQ to groom, solicit, or arrange to meet a minor.
Do not post sexualised content involving minors of any kind, including drawn, edited, or AI-generated material.
Our full approach is set out in our Child Safety Standards.
Self-harm and suicide
Do not encourage, instruct, or pressure anyone toward suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. Do not share methods, or content that presents these as a solution.
Talking about your own experience, recovery, or mental health is allowed and welcome. If we see content suggesting someone may be at risk, we may share support resources with them.
Please reach out to someone you trust or to a crisis service near you. In Pakistan, Umang Pakistan is reachable on 0311-7786264. Elsewhere, your local emergency number or a national helpline can connect you with someone straight away.
Nudity and sexual content
UFAQ is not a platform for adult content. Do not post nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit material in posts, profiles, or public spaces.
Never share intimate images of someone without their consent, including screenshots of private chats containing them. This applies whether or not the image was originally sent to you willingly.
Do not offer, request, or advertise sexual services.
Breastfeeding, health and medical contexts, and art are handled with judgement rather than a blanket rule.
Privacy and personal information
Do not post someone else’s private information without their permission. This includes home address, phone number, CNIC or other ID numbers, financial or bank details, medical records, private email addresses, or exact live location.
Do not publish private conversations, photos, or videos of someone who did not agree to it. Do not record or screenshot someone with the intention of embarrassing or exposing them.
Impersonation and authenticity
Use a name and photos that represent you. Do not:
- Pretend to be another person, brand, or organisation
- Use someone else’s photos as your own
- Claim credentials, roles, or affiliations you do not have
- Run automated or bot accounts without our written permission
- Manipulate engagement through fake accounts, coordinated posting, or bought followers
Parody and fan accounts are allowed if the profile makes it obvious that it is not the real person.
Spam, scams, and fraud
Do not use UFAQ to run scams or deceive people out of money. This includes investment and crypto schemes, fake giveaways, phishing, advance-fee requests, romance scams, and multi-level marketing recruitment.
Do not send bulk or repetitive unsolicited messages, post the same content across many threads, or use UFAQ mainly to drive traffic elsewhere.
Do not attempt to obtain payment, gift cards, or account credentials from other users through the app.
Jobs and U-Collab
Listings must be real and accurate. Do not post:
- Jobs or projects that do not exist
- Listings that ask for payment, deposits, or fees from applicants
- Roles that misrepresent pay, hours, or whether the work is paid
- Listings that require personal documents or financial details up front
- Discriminatory requirements that are unlawful in the relevant location
- Recruitment for MLM, pyramid schemes, or unlicensed financial products
Treat applicants and collaborators professionally. Do not use the applicant channel for unrelated contact.
Spark Match
Spark Match works on consent in both directions. Do not:
- Send sexual content or comments in an opening message
- Keep contacting someone after they decline or unmatch
- Create matches with the intention of harassing, scamming, or advertising to people
- Misrepresent your age, identity, or intentions
- Pressure anyone to move to another app, share personal details, or meet in person
If you choose to meet someone from UFAQ, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
Regulated and illegal goods
Do not buy, sell, trade, or promote:
- Drugs, including prescription medicines, and drug paraphernalia
- Weapons, ammunition, or instructions for making them
- Explosives or hazardous materials
- Stolen goods, counterfeit items, or fake documents
- Human trafficking or exploitative labour arrangements
- Wildlife or protected species products
- Gambling services where they are not legally permitted
Do not use UFAQ to organise or facilitate any other criminal activity.
Intellectual property
Only post content you made or have the right to use. Do not post copyrighted material, trademarks, or someone else’s creative work without permission.
If you believe your work has been posted without permission, contact us at copyright@ufaqedge.com with details of the work, where it appears on UFAQ, and a statement that you hold the rights.
Misleading content
Do not share content you know to be false where it could cause real harm — for example, false medical claims, or false claims about emergencies, disasters, or elections designed to mislead people.
We are not here to settle arguments or decide what is true in contested areas. We act where false content is likely to cause harm to people’s health or safety.
Platform integrity
Do not attempt to break, probe, or misuse UFAQ’s systems. This includes:
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or accessing the app through unofficial clients
- Attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours
- Interfering with moderation, reporting, or verification systems
- Abusing the reporting tool to target people who have not broken the rules
- Fraudulent subscription or payment activity, including chargeback abuse and fake purchase claims
- Selling access to PRO features
How we enforce these guidelines
We review reports from users and content flagged by our own systems. Where possible a person reviews the decision, and automated systems are used to detect and queue content rather than to hand out permanent bans on their own.
What we consider
Not every violation is treated the same. When deciding what action to take, we look at:
- How severe the violation is, and whether anyone was harmed
- Whether it appears deliberate
- Whether the account has previous violations
- Whether the behaviour is repeated or part of a pattern
- Whether the account exists mainly to break these rules
- Context, including satire, education, news, and personal experience
Consequences
| Action | When it is used |
|---|---|
| Warning | A first, minor violation where no one was harmed |
| Content removed | The post, comment, message, listing, or photo breaks the rules |
| Profile reset | A username, display name, bio, or photo breaks the rules |
| Feature restriction | Temporary loss of a specific feature — posting, commenting, messaging, job posting, or Spark Match — usually 24 hours to 30 days |
| Reduced distribution | Content stays up but is shown less widely in the feed and search |
| Temporary suspension | Account locked for a set period, typically 3 to 30 days |
| Permanent ban | Account closed and not eligible to return |
| Referral to authorities | Where there is a credible risk to life, or evidence of child exploitation or other serious crime |
Most people who break a rule get a warning and a chance to correct it. Repeated violations move up this list.
Immediate permanent bans
Some violations skip the ladder entirely and result in permanent removal on the first instance:
- Child sexual abuse material, or attempts to sexually exploit a minor
- Credible threats of violence against a person or group
- Sharing intimate images without consent
- Running scams that take money from other users
- Coordinated harassment campaigns
- Sale of drugs, weapons, or other prohibited goods
- Support for or recruitment to terrorist or violent extremist organisations
Ban evasion
If your account is suspended or banned, do not create a new one. New accounts we identify as belonging to a banned user will be removed, and evasion can turn a temporary suspension into a permanent ban.
Off-platform conduct
We generally limit ourselves to what happens on UFAQ. We may act on serious off-platform conduct — for example, involvement in violent extremism, or credible evidence of harm to a UFAQ user — where allowing the account to continue would put people at risk.
Reporting
Every post, comment, chat, profile, listing, and Spark Match request has a report option. Choose the reason that fits best; it helps route the report to the right place.
You can also email safety@ufaqedge.com with a description, links or usernames, and screenshots.
We aim to review reports within 48 hours, and faster for reports involving the safety of a person or a minor.
Reports are confidential. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.
Filing reports in bad faith — to silence someone, or as a group action against a user who has not broken the rules — is itself a violation.
Contact your local emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for that. If a life is at risk, email safety@ufaqedge.com with “URGENT” in the subject line so we can prioritise it.
Tools you can use yourself
You do not have to wait for us to act:
- Block — stops the person from contacting you, seeing your content, or appearing in your Spark Match results
- Mute — hides someone’s content without letting them know
- Restrict comments — limit who can reply to your posts
- Private account — approve who can follow you
- Unmatch — ends a Spark Match connection and closes the chat
- Delete chat — removes a conversation from your account
Appeals
If we take action on your account or content and you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal.
- Use the appeal link in the notification you received, or email appeals@ufaqedge.com
- Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the decision
- Include your username and what you think we misunderstood
- A different reviewer will look at the case where possible
- We aim to respond within 14 days
Decisions involving child sexual exploitation are final and not subject to appeal.
If your appeal succeeds, we restore the content or account and remove the violation from your record.
Changes to these guidelines
We update these guidelines as UFAQ changes and as new problems appear. When we make a significant change, we will note it here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use UFAQ after a change means you accept the updated version.
